Community College

Career Technical Education and the Strong Workforce Program

In 2016, the California legislature passed AB-1602 to establish the Strong Workforce Program (SWP). Since then, community colleges across the state have created and implemented projects to strengthen career education (CTE) programs. The goal of SWP is to prepare students for living-wage careers and strengthen the state’s economy at the same time. Preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers helps students to ensure economic prosperity for themselves and their families, while helping business and industry to flourish in California.

SWP Projects

Community college SWP projects have a 24-month performance period. Within that time frame, colleges must implement their project plans and show impact.

EducateX uses SWP expertise to help California community colleges to fully achieve their SWP project objectives on time and within budget.
