Are we fully utilizing what project management has to offer?
In education, our work increasingly involves projects. In fact, we often call different parts of our work “projects.” We initiate projects, plan, execute, measure our progress, make adjustments as needed, and close the project when the performance period ends. Along the way, we call stakeholder meetings, provide services to students, and look for the best ways to show the project’s positive impact. We run into barriers and do our best to overcome them. In the end, we try to preserve the impact of the project so we don’t have to start all over again with the next project.
Incorporating a more intentional project management approach saves time and resources and helps avoid duplication of effort.
